This car was the first RWB built in the UK. It was commissioned by VAD Design. However, when they received the kit they used the parts to make molds, and after Nakai-san installed the RWB kit in this car they started offering a knock-off kit for sale under their name.
As a result, Nakai-san and RWB cut ties with VAD and ignore this car as if it never existed, making Hibiki the UK’s “official” #1 RWB.
After their fallout, VAD sold the car. It has been owned by the same party for the last 10 years or so, and although it’s not considered part of the UK fleet because of what happened with the original owners, the current ones take good care of it and enjoy driving it as much as they can. It is now part of the fleet of an ex-driver in the British GT championship who used to race 993 GT2 Evo’s and enjoys having a “street” version of it.
Although this car is seen as a “black sheep” in the RWB world, it’s good to see that it’s being properly taken care of by someone who appreciates Nakai-san’s creation.
