This 964 Carrera 2 began its second life after a serious accident at Sendai Highland circuit in September 2014. The original car was stripped, with its engine, transmission and suspension transferred to another vehicle, while the damaged body shell remained unused for several years.

The project eventually brought together two crashed Porsches: the original 964 Carrera 2, whose body shell was extensively repaired and straightened, and a separate RWB 964 that had been written off following an accident at Tsukuba Circuit. The latter donated its engine, transmission, suspension and other major mechanical components.

The revived chassis was then sent to Akira Nakai for its RWB transformation. The narrow-look, backdated bodywork was completed by late May 2022, after which the car returned for the remaining mechanical and electrical work.

The build was completed in January 2023, approximately 18 months after work began, and delivered to its new owner in Nagano, Japan, on January 11, 2023.

The car was built with a number of performance features, including a fully welded, cup-style roll cage, air conditioning, heating, a front lift system and a custom stainless-steel exhaust with dual outlets and an adjustable exhaust valve.
